A precise architectural review wall of systems maps and technical documentation

The Practice

Before the technology, there is a system.

Every organization has an operating system of its own: people, processes, information, decisions, applications, integrations, and rules working together to produce an outcome.

When that system is poorly understood, technology decisions become guesses. New platforms can reinforce inefficient processes, automation can accelerate the wrong work, and modernization efforts can create more complexity instead of less.

Glenn-Walker Systems Consulting exists to make that system visible.

We study how an organization actually operates, translate those findings into an architectural view of the business, and establish the requirements and decision framework needed to determine what should change and why.

Our role is deliberately upstream of implementation. We do not sell software or represent a platform. We help organizations understand the problem, design the path forward, and enter major technology decisions with something more valuable than a product shortlist: a plan.

Independent Systems Architecture for organizations ready to make consequential decisions with clarity.

Jessica Walker
Founder & Principal

Glenn-Walker Systems Consulting was founded by Jessica Walker to bring systems thinking and engineering discipline to a problem that is often approached from the opposite direction: organizations making significant technology decisions without first understanding the system they are trying to change.

Her background spans engineering systems, digital transformation, operational improvement, and technology delivery, with experience translating complex technical and organizational environments into structured, actionable systems.

That perspective shapes Glenn-Walker Systems Consulting's approach: understand the operating environment first, establish the architecture second, and make technology decisions from a position of clarity.

The principles behind every engagement.

01

Architecture before investment.

We never recommend a platform or a vendor. We design the architecture first. What you buy, and when, is your decision, made with the information you need to make it well.

02

Documented deliverables, not deck-based advice.

Every Glenn-Walker Systems Consulting engagement ends with a structured document package you can act on without us in the room. The value doesn’t disappear when the engagement ends.

03

Honest assessment over comfortable answers.

If your organization isn’t ready for AI, we’ll tell you, and show you exactly what needs to change before it is. Uncomfortable truths early are less expensive than comfortable ones late.

04

Complexity calibrated to the organization.

We don’t bring enterprise-scale methodology to a 30-person firm and call it service. Every engagement is scoped to what the firm can absorb, act on, and sustain.

05

The work happens before the vendor calls.

Our timing is intentional. We are most useful before you have committed to anything. After the contract is signed, our leverage, and yours, is significantly reduced.
